Job Description
Depending on your job experiences and qualifications, you will be assigned to either one of the following claims roles:
-Claims Assistant (Accounts Payable)
The Claims Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day tasks and activities of a claims team. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable aspects of claims processing. These tasks include, but are not limited to, data entry of new invoices, creating payment vouchers, utilizing accounting and other software to validate and cross check data entries. This role will incorporate all aspects of claims handling by recording, tracking, and processing member, client, and vendor invoices regarding reimbursement for services On Call provides.
-Handle all aspects of processing claims, which includes setting up claim files, data entry, scanning documents, validating approvals regarding coverage and/or benefit limits. Setting up and maintaining a diary with follow-up and deadline dates.
-Respond to and contact providers, insureds, and other related parties to obtain and relay basic information for invoice processing.
-Coordinate and correspond with other departments within the company to resolve claim and benefit related issues.
-Provide ad hoc information as requested to support claim processing and/or special projects.
-Participate and assist in claims teams administrative tasks including data entry, monthly account reconciliation, client report requirements, quality checks and documentation requirements.
-Research claim issues and respond to claim inquiries from claimants and clients.
-Participate in team learning opportunities and cross-training.
-Claims Assistant (Accounts Receivable)
The Claims Assistant is responsible for supporting the entire claims team in all aspects of claim management by recording, tracking, and processing member, client, and vendor invoices for reimbursement on services On Call provides.
-Participate in team learning opportunities and cross-training.
-Perform the initial and ongoing claims processing including setting up claim files, performing data entry, scanning documents, and preparing loss runs.
-Set up and maintain a diary of follow-up and deadline dates, as well as a registry of claims checks to be distributed.
-Respond to and contact claimants, insured, and other related parties to obtain and relay basic information concerning the claim process.
-Draft, prepare, and process various types of correspondence including acknowledgement of new claims, coverage position letters, indemnity/expense checks, etc.
-Provide ad hoc information as requested to support claim processing and/or special projects.
-Participate and assist in claims teams administrative tasks including raw data entry, monthly account reconciliation, client report requirements, quality checks and client documentation requirements.
-Claims Assistant (Third Party Administration -TPA)
The Claims Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day tasks and activities of TPA group within the claims team. This role will primarily focus on managing the TPA claims mailbox, answering claimant queries, providing timely follow-ups, receiving/filing claims and sending claims acknowledgements. This position will have the privilege of handling calls from claimants and providers. It is important to recognize that this role is crucial to the effectiveness of day-to-day functioning for the TPA group. This role will incorporate all aspects of claims handling by recording, tracking, and processing member, client, and vendor invoices regarding reimbursement for services On Call provides.
-Conduct claimant communication professionally with compassion while sharing claim specific information.
-Read and interpret insurance policy documentation required and follow procedures and guidelines to manage claimant relations.
-Maintain timely communication and collaboration with the claims team and other departments within the company and participate in team learning opportunities and cross-training.
-Participate and assist in claims related administrative tasks including data entry, monthly account reconciliations, client reporting requirements, quality checks and documentation requirements.
-Perform multiple high priority tasks accurately and provide timely updates. Set up and maintain a diary of follow-up and deadline dates.
-Inbound/outbound phone calls to claimants while acting in the best interests of On Call.
-Provide ad hoc information as requested to support TPA claim adjusters for processing and/or special projects.

; Requirements:-
-Strong written and verbal English communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
-High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree is preferred.
-Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive administrative, clerical experience.
-Solid understanding of using Email programs like Outlook.
-Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
-Basic understanding of software applications and web browsers. Experience using PeopleSoft Financial systems is a plus.
-Excellent organizational and analytical skills; demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
