The Credit Manager manages the Credit Control process across all countries in Middle East and Asia, including recommend credit limits, verification of credit terms at tender stage, acceptable level of risk and terms of payment for customers, maintenance of the country's Approved Client List and credit risk analysis.
All the above are managed in accordance with the company's policies and objectives, while contributing to ongoing continuous improvement, process standardization and high levels of customer satisfaction.
He/She reports to Billing Center Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review credit rating and credit limit for customers and potential customers
- Draw up credit risk analysis report based on the investigation report from credit agencies such as Dun & Bradstreet and from past payment history.
- Analyze credit risk and provide related reviewing suggestion
- Maintain the Country Approved Clients list and Credit Control Policy
- Co-ordinate all credit rating amendments on sub-systems, and communicate all changes to segments involved
- Monitor client balances against credit limits and raise a flag when approaching said limit
- Continual review of all processes to optimize efficient business use while defining best practice
- Involve at the tender stage - customer credit control check, including credit history worldwide
- Review contractual clauses regarding invoicing and payment and provide suggestions
- Ensure adherence to internal policies with respect to credit check and credit control
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken to minimize credit risk and credit exposure
- Manage AR and CC performance through metrics and key performance indicators
- Ensure proper training is provided to all stakeholders on credit management
- Ensure that all relevant process and knowledge materials are reviewed and updated on regular basis
- Develop and recommend action plans to ensure targets are achieved or exceeded
- Ensure bad debts are minimized thru regular review of the age debtors ledger and credit reviews
- Conduct credit checks on all customers, establishes and manages limits. Recommend credit limits, acceptable level of risk and payment terms for customers.
- Monitor and report on deviations from credit standards - Credit Breach/ Exposure report prepared
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience - Minimum 5 years of finance experience in similar industry
- Education - CA, CPA, CIMA or CFA from reputed institute
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiar with reviewing Financial Statements to assess any credit risk
- Ability to write the credit risk report
- Ability to work under tight timelines and multi-task
- Good team work spirit and can work under pressure
