We are working closely with an international school in Sarawak, Malaysia, who are seeking a Head of Design Technology for their new Technology Department, within their brand new state-of-the-art campus, which opened in January 2020. The Head of Design Technology will be responsible for the Creative Arts. This opportunity is to start in August 2020.
Candidates must hold a PGCE/Teaching Licence and a subject related degree, with a strong interest in the Arts/Crafts/Design field. Candidates should also have at least 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience. Previous experience teaching in a UK school or an international school is desired.
Additional Requirements:
Will be able to work with wide age ranges of children from pre-school to secondary school.
Will have a creative eye for detail and the technical knowledge to design new and innovative products with students / staff / community.
Will be knowledgeable of or have a demonstrable willingness to use diverse materials to create like wood, cardboard, styrofoam, paper mache, metal, programming, etc.
Will have experience of delivering Food Technology.
Will be able to lead a diverse team of colleagues, comprising Art and Music teachers alongside other Design teachers as the department grows.
