Have a thorough understanding and well verse with Malaysian and International Food Safety regulatory as well as Halal requirements.Achieves R&D operational objectives preparing and completing action plans; assist on implementing production, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and assist in resolving problems; support audits; determining system improvements and support on implementing change.Support Sales & Marketing in product & label development, product testing and trial.Execute on study and evaluate raw material / ingredient suitability, cost effectiveness & maintain updated master list.Constantly research and develop new or improve existing SKU & review product formulation that are safe, economical for production and acceptable by customers.Liaise with internal departments with regards to update the production SOPs & specification for all new or improved products.Monitor initial commercial run of new/improved products and ensure standard SOPs and formulation are met and maintain record keeping.Ad hoc monitoring of finished goods produced to ensure it complied to set specification on quality & shelf life.Updates job knowledge by studying trends in product developments, participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Liaise with external laboratories on product development matters and food safety issues.Collaborate with Sales, Production, QA/QC & Purchasing on minimize raw material wastages.Assist to update SOPs & records to comply with certified system ISO 9001 QMS/GMP/HACCP/HALAL.Monitor all equipment used for R&D to ensure timely service maintenance is done.Manage inventory in laboratory for R&D use and for production trial run.
