A career with Kerry offers you an opportunity to shape the future of food while providing you opportunities to explore and grow in a truly global environment.**About the role**:The role entails ensuring compliance with MS ISO/IEC 17025 standards, established quality control procedures, policies, and standards within the Microbiological Laboratory, QA Department, and designated plant location. The objective is to maintain the highest product and material quality, meeting customer expectations. Duties include conducting microbiological testing on finished products, specific raw materials, and overseeing the environmental monitoring program (EMP).**Key responsibilities**:- Conduct microbiological testing on finished goods, raw materials, and EMP samples in accordance with specified parameters and testing methods.- Prepare samples for external laboratory testing.- Utilize aseptic techniques to composite finished product samples as per the testing plan.- Perform checks and in-house calibration of necessary equipment in the microbiological lab as per the defined frequency.- Prepare relevant media following working instructions.- Assist Microbiologists with lab work and improvements.- Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and adherence to 5S principles in the Microbiological laboratory.- Work towards compliance with and maintenance of MS ISO/IEC 17025 standards.- Strive for 100% Right First Time by reducing missed testing and ensuring timely reporting.- Facilitate smooth task handover and information transfer between tasks.- Commit to training provided by the Microbiological Laboratory, QA department, and the company.- Ensure effective communication from superiors to subordinates and relevant parties, and report important matters to superiors.- Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.- Collaborate with personnel from other departments on specifications, complaints, and quality issues, and implement corrective/preventive actions for continuous improvement.- Optimize the production process to ensure all products meet microbiological specifications, and ensure all work is carried out correctly and presented well.- Prioritize health and safety at all times.- Understand the needs of both internal and external customers and consumers.- Perform any tasks assigned by superiors as required.**Qualifications and skills**:- Diploma or degree in a science-related field. SPM (science stream) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing will also be considered.- Entry/junior level experience, one year of experience in a manufacturing environment will be an advantage.- Proficient in testing and analysis, especially in microbiology. Knowledgeable about product lines and general food industry manufacturing processes is advantageous.- Skilled in aseptic sampling and environmental monitoring.- Computer literate, specifically in Microsoft Excel, with strong communication skills.- Effective in management and cooperation.- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Malay.- Flexible and able to work odd hours as needed.
