Job Summary: The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operations of the laundry department, ensuring that the hotel, resort, or facility's linens, uniforms, and guest laundry are cleaned and maintained in a timely and efficient manner. This role ensures that the laundry facility operates smoothly, adheres to safety and cleanliness standards, and meets quality expectations for all laundry services.
Key Responsibilities: Supervision of Laundry Staff:Oversee daily activities of laundry personnel, including training, scheduling, and performance management.Ensure staff follows established safety protocols and hygiene practices.Maintain a positive and productive work environment for team members.Laundry Operations:Manage the washing, drying, ironing, and folding processes to meet the required standards.Monitor the condition of linens and uniforms, ensuring they are cleaned to company standards.Ensure proper loading and unloading of laundry machines, including sorting of linen and garments.Maintain a consistent workflow and ensure timely delivery of laundered items.Quality Control:Inspect laundered items to ensure they are free from stains, damage, and other imperfections.Implement quality control procedures to minimize errors and improve overall output.Resolve any laundry-related issues, including guest complaints, in a professional and efficient manner.Inventory and Equipment Management:Maintain accurate records of inventory levels of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and laundry items.Order and replenish laundry supplies as needed, adhering to budgetary guidelines.Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of all laundry equipment, arranging for repairs or maintenance as necessary.Safety and Cleanliness:Ensure that the laundry facility remains clean, organized, and free from hazards.Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals.Implement and oversee a preventative maintenance schedule for all laundry machinery.Collaboration and Communication:Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet their laundry needs.Maintain open lines of communication with management and report any issues or suggestions for improvement.Foster positive relationships with external vendors or service providers when necessary. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: Diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.Experience:Minimum 2-3 years of experience in laundry operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.Experience working in hotels, resorts, or large-scale facilities is preferred.Skills:Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.Basic knowledge of laundry equipment maintenance and repair.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy laundry items and stand for long periods.License: Possess a valid GDL (Goods Driver's License) or PSV (Public Service Vehicle) driving license.Knowledge: Familiarity with laundry chemicals, cleaning procedures, and industry standards
