Job Summary: The Manager of Process Safety will oversee the implementation and management of process safety programs within the plant to ensure a safe and compliant operational environment.
This role involves collaboration across departments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them while complying with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and continuous improvement of the organization's process safety management system.
Conduct regular process hazard analyses (PHA) and safety assessments to identify and manage risks effectively.
Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for process safety across all operations.
Coordinate and facilitate safety audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Provide expert guidance and support to operations, engineering, and maintenance teams regarding process safety issues.
Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and understanding of process safety principles among staff.
Collaborate with senior management to integrate process safety practices into overall business strategies.
Monitor compliance with process safety regulations and respond to any incidents or near misses with appropriate corrective actions.
Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging regulations related to process safety.
Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
Demonstrated experience in conducting PHAs, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex systems and identify potential safety hazards.
Proven ability to develop and implement training programs and safety initiatives.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Fluency in English, with proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia advantageous.
