Your new role
The Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of student recruitment and business development of Curtin University in Sarawak. In addition, the incumbent will help to develop and execute the plan for those regions under his/her team, which includes a range of activities aimed at generating local public awareness on various programmes offered by the University, and recruit potential students. He/she is accountable for achieving the team and individual sales targets, by driving the team Sales Pipeline (Lead, Contact, Appointment, Visit, Application and Enrolment).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop the recruitment plan and strategies and budget in the areas/regions assigned.
Provide information for the purpose of enrolment to prospects and their parents on the programmes offered by the university and to achieve set targets in student enrolment.
Organise promotional events in accordance with the allocated budget, attend fairs, receptions, seminars etc., to promote Curtin's programmes and recruit potential students.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with recruitment agents in the areas/regions assigned.
Manage enquiries, and ensure all emails, calls/walk-ins are responded promptly and in a professional manner to increase student's enrolment.
Cultivate good working relationships with school representatives. Identify opportunities at these schools to acquire quality leads.
Gather market intelligence, such as trends in applications and popular courses in the market.
Prepare post-event reports for every event participated/conducted.
Any other duties as directed by the Supervisor within the capacity of this position.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least two years of work experience in a relevant field.
Demonstrated an approachable, friendly and caring personality and professional work attitude.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills (including presentation skills) with a wide variety of people and with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated a high level of motivation to work with people, able to deal with customer enquiries in an effective and positive manner.
Demonstrated organizational skills including the ability to prioritise workload, complete a variety of marketing-related activities to meet deadlines and follow up actions with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated effective planning skills, including developing a recruitment plan, and setting and monitoring the recruitment budget.
Demonstrated ability to both, work independently and within a team.
Willing to travel extensively and work on flexible schedules and working hours.
Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
Possess good networking with recruitment agents, government agencies, embassies etc., both domestically and internationally.
Work experience in a higher education setting is highly preferred.
A responsible person who possesses a high level of integrity.
