About the role

As the Procurement Assistant Manager at Kong Long Huat Chemicals Sdn Berhad, you will play a crucial role in optimising the company's supply chain operations. 
What you'll be doing Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely deliveryStreamline procurement processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiencyMaintain strong relationship with suppliers inside and outside of Malaysia.Develop and implement procurement strategies to improve cost-efficiency, quality, and reliability of suppliesMonitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and make recommendations to maintain optimal stock levelsAnalyze market trends, industry regulations, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvementProvide regular reports and presentations to management on procurement activities and key performance indicatorsMentor and train junior members of the procurement team to support their professional developmentWhat we're looking for Minimum 5 years' of experience in a procurement or supply chain role, preferably in the Chemical or TradingStrong expertise in suppliers' management, ideally with exposure to global or regional market.Able to travel locally and abroad to maintain strong relationship with vendors.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize inventory and procurement strategiesBachelor's degree with experience in Procurement roles, with a preference for experience in Chemical, Trading, or Manufacturing industries.Experience in sourcing from overseas suppliers would be an added advantage.Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred as the role requires liaising with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
