Open To: All Nationalities Job Overview: A leading airborne geophysical acquisition Company seeks a Regional Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities across the Asia–Pacific (APAC) region with a key focus on Indonesia and the Australian Mining industry and to support the existing O&G portfolio in Malaysia and Indonesia.
You will establish strong client relationships and achieve revenue growth from an established portfolio of clients and new potential clients across your region.
Supported by a team of Geoscientists, your primary focus will be to drive airborne data services across the Mining, Oil and Gas and Geothermal industries.Applicants are invited with good Sales, Business Development or/and Account Management experience that have the drive and ambition to take ownership of the region and to succeed.
The Company is open to applicants with at least 5 years in sales/business development, can provide leadership to the APAC team and has a strong ability to deliver sales growth.
The role is open to all nationalities but preference for applicants living in Malaysia at present.The company is well-established in airborne geophysical surveying exploration, for many decades.
They provide sophisticated high resolution gravity gradient data, that helps pinpoint potential exploration targets, thereby saving time and money and enhancing tough exploration decisions.
They continue to find new and innovative ways of acquiring, processing and interpreting gravity gradient data to minimise risk and maximise potential.In this role, you will be expected to travel around 25% of your time - to visit clients and potential clients, and attend conferences and trade shows etc.
Responsibilities: Reporting to and supporting the Director of Sales in the UK, you will take responsibility to:• Become competent in the Company's services, work flows and sales life cycle.• Provide leadership to the APAC team.• Drive business growth across the Asia-Pacific region with strong focus on Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia.• Drive airborne data acquisition service growth across Mining, Geothermal and Oil and Gas markets.
This could be for proprietary and multi-client projects.• Have a key focus on the mining industry in Australia – either developing market direct or working closely with appointed Agent/3rd Party.• Work closely with the Indonesian Agent to develop the wider market.• Devise sales strategies and maintain and manage sale forecasts• Identify and work proactively with National oil companies and licensing authorities in relation to securing permits to acquire geophysical data – build these relationships.• Build good working relationships with your peers across offices, especially Support staff and Geoscientists who will assist in presenting the technical aspects of services to clients.• Be proactive in understanding the markets in terms of challenges, trends, competitors and their solution, the players and potential new exploration areas….• Build strong relationships with existing and potential clients to identify new business opportunities – identify the players across procurement gate-keepers, commercial, legal, exploration geoscience teams, new ventures etc.
Understand their exploration needs, drivers and challenges and devise wining solutions that meet these needs and their budgets.• Constantly research the market identifying potential new business leads – e.g.
licensing rounds, farm in's, farm out's, new markets, data acquisition, intelligence gathering.• During project delivery - work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure project success and keep stakeholders informed of progress and manage client satisfaction.• Work closely with Marketing in raising awareness and reputation of the Company - propose and attend conferences and industry events, help devise presentations and marketing materials for your region, support new partnership development….• Be proactive in keeping abreast of new technologies and trends in relation to gravity and magnetic acquisition data services.• Travel as required – estimated 1 week in 4.Preferences: The successful candidate will have• Degree in Geoscience related subject desired.
Geophysical background advantageous, in particular in non-seismic techniques.• Proven Sales, Account Management or/and Business Development experience in the Mining (of key interest), Oil and Gas or/and Geothermal industry essential.• Previous sales experience selling across the Asia-Pacific region essential – especially Malaysia, Indonesia, and/or Australasia as these are projected growth areas.• Experience in complex sales is of key interest.• Experience selling into mining industry highly desired – especially sales in Australia.• Good negotiator essential – can close deals.• Knowledge of gravity and magnetic data desired but a technical guru will support your sales effort as required.• Entrepreneurial – creative – can think laterally to deliver solutions, ambitious to exceed revenue targets, can work on own initiative....• Strong presentation and communications skills – ability to articulate value propositions across a variety of potential interested parties and cultures.• Team player and self-motivated – can drive sales across the region independently.
• Good interpersonal skills essential - ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders.• Can devise effective Sale Forecasts and manage objectives.
• Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.• Strong advocate in the transfer of knowledge and experiences – proactive in sharing.• Willingness to travel across the region.Package: A competitive package is on offer consisting of Base and Commission/Bonus plan.
