Safety & Health Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES :  1. Safety Management:
Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations, industry standards, and company guidelines.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.2. Risk Assessment:
Perform risk assessments and safety analyses for various site activities and operations.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and safety plans.3. Training and Awareness:
Provide safety training and orientation to site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors.Promote safety awareness through workshops, meetings, and safety campaigns.4. Incident Investigation:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.Prepare detailed incident reports and track the implementation of corrective measures.5. Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.Conduct regular drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for emergencies and ensure all personnel are familiar with emergency protocols.6. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance documentation.7. Health Monitoring:
Oversee health monitoring programs for site personnel, including periodic health checks and occupational health assessments.Address health-related concerns and ensure the implementation of appropriate measures to protect worker health.8. Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments and management to integrate safety practices into all aspects of site operations.Serve as a point of contact for safety-related issues and provide guidance and support as needed.QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar are preferred.Proven experience in a safety and health role, preferably within the power generation or industrial sector.Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to analyze complex situations and implement effective solutions.
