Perform the function and role of a Safety and Health Officer by the Occupational, Safety, and Health Acts/Regulations; Environmental Acts/Regulations; and the Company's standing orders.PMA and PMT;Maintenance of the PMA & PMT records of units/locations, and certificates including any new applications.Coordinate with the Related Department on the inspection and testing of expiring PMA / PMT by DOSH, including maintenance of the equipment.Carry out pre-inspection of PMA/PMT equipment's condition to ensure its compliance with DOSH requirements before their inspection is carried out.Follow-up on the progress of corrective action for non-conformance findings from DOSH, internal audit, or inspection.Maintenance and updating of common Safety information and performance notice boardSafety Inspection:To carry out monthly safety inspections of the Plant building inclusive of reviewing & updating its HIRDC and developing new safe working procedures.To carry out daily safety surveillance on-site during work in progress to ensure safety compliance by workers on site inclusive of carrying out on-site toolbox meetings.To perform the safety surveillance and inspection of tools/equipment duties during major plant shutdowns.Coordinate and assist in carrying out risk assessments with contractors for works carried out.Follow-up, monitor, and verify the status of the corrective/preventive action plan for safety non-conformance findings to ensure timely completion by the relevant department.To carry out a full accident investigation process for any accident occurrence that arises while on duty as SHO inclusive of SOCSO case processing and reporting to DOSH (JKKP 6 & JKKP 8).To carry out in-house safety awareness training to employees and conduct scheduled toolbox meetings and safety induction to contractors as per arrangement.Environmental Management:Assist in coordinating and monitoring environmental monitoring and measurement by third party as per schedule inclusive of OSH monitoring and measurement.Monitoring and checking to ensure compliance with scheduled waste management.Monitoring and compiling CEM results and highlighting any non-conformance.To perform inspection & maintain the firefighting system in good condition. To carry out any other duties as directed by the Company Management.Requirements: Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.Possession of relevant certifications such as OHSAS Qualification and Green Book Holder from DOSH.Minimum 5 to 8 years of working experience, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.Familiarity with cement plant operations is a plus.In-depth knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and external stakeholders.Ability to lead safety training programs and emergency response drills.Knowledge of risk assessment and management.Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices and regulations.Willingness to work in a physically demanding and potentially hazardous industrial setting.Willingness to be on-call for emergency response situations.
