Job Title: Senior Design Engineer (Tooling - Plastic Injection Molding) Location: Desa Cemerlang, Johor Bahru Company Overview: This leading manufacturer specializes in producing precision plastic injection molded parts for various industries.
With a focus on innovation and quality, the company designs and develops tooling systems to ensure efficient production processes.
They are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer experienced in plastic injection molding tooling to enhance their tooling capabilities.
Job Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of plastic injection molds used to produce high-quality plastic parts.
Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of molds using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize mold designs for manufacturability, ensuring efficiency in the injection molding process.
Review and improve existing mold designs to enhance cycle time, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
Conduct mold flow analysis and other simulations to predict and prevent molding defects such as warping, sink marks, or voids.
Work with resin suppliers to ensure the correct material is selected for the tooling application.
Oversee mold fabrication, assembly, and testing to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior design engineers in the tooling department.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Design, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding tooling design .
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar for mold design.
Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling materials, and various types of resin.
Experience with mold flow analysis tools to predict molding behavior and optimize designs.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and improve mold performance.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
