Job Summary
As Account Manager, you will manage existing accounts and new accounts of the food ingredients business in Malaysia.
The role will be part of the Nourish commercial team to drive culinary and bakery category sales and pipelines in Malaysia, with the goal to ensure growth and new business wins in food ingredients.
The role will see you effectively collaborate with the team in sales, customer service, category leaders, innovation creation and design (IC&D), product management, and marketing.
Responsibilities/Description
This position is Malaysia based and will report into the Commercial Manager, Malaysia & Singapore of the Food Ingredients division, with the key responsibilities as below:
Contribute to the topline and profitability growth, and enhancement of relationship with customers via effective regular customer communication and engagement so as IFF is able to address the needs of customers via growth projects and co-creation in product innovations.
Communicate and promote the bakery and culinary solutions within the food ingredients portfolio to customers.
Management of designated customers and partner distributor by forecasting, sampling, providing price quotations, price negotiation, following up of customer queries and handling of customer complaints - in accordance with IFF's procedures to deliver the expected customer sales service.
Ensure that project briefs and deliverables are meeting customers' requirements and timeline; Ensure that customers and company are updated on the project progress related to product promotion.
Identify new business opportunities and initiate innovation or proactive activities to create pipelines at existing and new accounts.
Capture these opportunities in CRM and convert them into new sales to gain market share profitably for the company.
Monthly updating of customer call reports, opportunity management segmentation data, competitive information, and keep relevant internal stakeholders informed to optimize business opportunities.
Provide a timely and accurate Activity Report to the Sales Leaders for effectively tracking of progress against agreed plans and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Work cooperatively with peers and leaders to ensure personal and company sales targets and performance measures are achieved and a team-based culture is fostered.
Build account plans with the commercial, technical and product management team to identify opportunities and action plans for business growth.
Maintain customer information and database related to the accounts.
Partner with the operation team and customer service team to ensure customer satisfaction in terms of services and supply.
Yearly pricing and contract negotiation with customers and ensure IFF awarded business represents a high share of wallets in customer's spends.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Food & Nutrition, Food Technology or any other relevant industry.
At least 5-8 years experience in B2B sales and account management experience in food ingredients or food manufacturing.
Experience in managing bakery customers and/or in culinary customers (meat processing, frozen ready-to-cook/eat food etc) is essential.
Ability to assimilate commercial and/or technical information and communicate effectively to both customers and/or IFF team members.
Experience and knowledge in bakery and culinary applications, ideally well connected in the industry.
Proven track record in account development and delivered growth in sales and pipelines.
Demonstrated "can do" attitude, positive approach to problem solving and flexible in being able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Able to work with a team from multiple functions in a B2B environment.
Demonstrate respect for people.
Effective communication skills in English language both verbal and written.
