Job Summary:The Accountant is involved in day-to-day, month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory activities (audits, filings). The role also has a strong emphasis on financial and management cost accounting and providing financial analysis to Management.Duties & Responsibilities:Day-to-day and month-end close activities:Efficient use of Company's ERP & financial tools (Oracle, Expandable, COUPA etc.)Prepare and submit journal entries.Maintain accounting follow-up of entity direct & indirect spending to support Finance Controller and local Management in analyzing KPIs.Prepare credit card/petty cash accrual journal.Ensure to cover all relevant accruals for the month of un-invoiced services and/or purchases.Liaise with AP Team located in India to ensure timely & accurate AP accounting activities for month-end close.Preparation of month-end reconciliation file for review.Support Finance Controller in preparation of month/quarter-end reporting packages.Key involvement in cost accounting activities:Support to Finance Controller in preparation and analysis of product costs, manufacturing variances & other cost of goods sold.Participate in quarterly/annual forecast and budgeting.Assist in physical inventory count cycle and reconciliation to inventory subledger.Provide support in preparation of documentation for financial audits and other statutory compliance activities:Assist in compiling all supporting documents for auditors.Work together with the local team in providing supporting documents to auditors.Assist in compiling all supporting documents for tax agent.Handle statistics reporting for local authorities and other government agencies. Partner with other Masimo Teams involved for audits, tax filings, and other statutory compliance activities.Performs other duties or special projects as assigned or requested.Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:Minimum Qualifications:Degree in accounting with at least three years of Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with relevant accounting qualification.For the Accountant position, should hold Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA) membership.Must be a self-starter, a "hands-on" individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction.Solid Excel skills are required as well as a high proficiency in standard job costing and variance analysis.Excellent attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with intercompany profit and inventory management.Experience in a medical product manufacturing environment.Fluent in written and spoken English.Education:Bachelor's degree in Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent training and experience) is required. ACCA or CPA is preferred.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.
