Responsible for full spectrum of accounting and financing functions in compliance with standard accounting practice, FRS, and local statutory requirements. To provide support to the Financial Controller and other operational personnel in daily operations and strategic planning.
Job Description | Your Role & Responsibilities
Management Accounting:Maintain the accounting system, full sets of accounts (GL, AR, AP), journal entries, inter-entities reconciliations, investigating variances, inventory management in compliance with internal policies, financial policies, and regulations.
Responsible for timely month-end closing and preparation of management reports, departmental P&L, cost allocation on shared resources, and comprehensive analysis of financial results.
Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labour, and overhead expenses with the objective to identify cost drivers and implement cost reduction initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and improve cost efficiencies.
Manage working capital and cash flow liquidity through effective management of receivables, inventories, creditors, and capital expenditures ensuring adequate funding for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and preparing Budgets, cash flow projections, and business forecast plans to support effective financial management and decision-making.
Work closely with various stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and finance teams, to ensure accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting activities.
Responsible for timely and accurate FYE closing and preparation of management account notes, financial reports on a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with statutory requirements & TP policies.
Coordinate and liaise with external parties i.e., auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax, and government authorities where required.
Tax Reporting and Compliance:Assist in the preparation of tax computation, tax estimates, and ensure a timely and effective level of tax compliance in accordance with relevant legislation.
Handle tax matters which would include the timely SST filing.
Other:Responsible for project implementations and system upgrades to comply with new operational or legal requirements.
Assist in the enhancement of the financial and management reporting system, internal control, policies, and procedures.
Assist in staff payroll processing matters.
Perform other duties as and when delegated i.e., support function, business process improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc projects.
Anticipate potential shortcomings & problems and suggest corrective actions.
Job Requirement
Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent. Being a member of CPA/ACCA/CIMA will be an added advantage.
At least 15 years of working experience in Financing and Accounting related work is required for this position.
Preferable with prior working experiences in manufacturing with extensive hands-on experience on operating and capital expenditure, revenue recognition, internal controls, and budgeting process.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Possess solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting.
Familiar with ERP and payroll software.
Excellent sense of analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
