This is a public-listed construction company specialising in the renewable energy sector.
With an expansion to the company, the company is looking for an Assistant Manager.Your new rolePlaying a pivotal role in the company, you will be in charge of:
Lead the Accounts Payable (AP) team, improving current workflows and payment processes.
Oversee daily AP activities, including invoice posting, mailbox management, invoice quality checks, and obtaining necessary approvals.
Collaborate with various departments to resolve payment issues and take appropriate actions for payment proposals.
Work closely with the Treasury team to discuss current cash flow, trade financing transactions, and loan settlements.
Perform monthly closing tasks, ensuring timely creation of vendor payment proposals and vouchers according to the payment calendar.
Monitor monthly vendor reconciliations and follow up on any pending actions with relevant teams.
Provide accurate and timely information to support the Project Accounting team, as well as external and internal audits.
Review Accounts Payable ageing reports and address any pending actions to clear aged items.
Support ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business management, or equivalent professional qualification.
Proficiency in AutoCount accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and construction accounting knowledge (advantageous).
At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or accounts payable.
Language Proficiency: English, Malay, Mandarin (advantageous).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
