Manage current and prospective end customers and develop long term sales, create value and grow target products in Malaysia and other export markets. Meet customer requirements by coordinating the introduction of new products and providing technical service to support the use of existing products.
Ensure that technical resources and activities within the region are leveraged to optimize business success in accordance with the strategic marketing objectives.
Drives for results and achieves technical objectives within timelines e.g. customer approvals, commercialization of products, realization of technical value propositions.
Develops and nurtures technical relationships with customers' counterparts to enhance understanding of user technical feedback and adhesion to LYB product technical advantages.
Approvals of products at customers with growth opportunities.
Introduces new products in conjunction with New Business Development and Marketing Managers.
Ensures consistent and effective Technical Services and Application Development at customers and makes technical recommendations on potential improvements.
Takes the lead in closing customer complaints of quality and application in a timely manner.
Exercises risk management related to ADTS activities (e.g. technical recommendations), Goal Zero, safety, Product stewardship, regulatory affairs.
Min. QualificationsEducation:
University Degree in Polymer/Material Science, Organic/Pure Chemistry, Chemical Engineering.
Work Experience:
Minimum 7 years of industrial experience in technical services, new business development in the Plastics Industry in the SEA region.
Languages:
English and the main language of the region under the responsibility.
Preferred QualificationsApplication and Process Knowledge: Understand at least one segment of major plastics processing technology, e.g. Flexible packaging (BOPP, CPP, Blown film, etc.), or Rigid Packaging (injection, blow molding, thermoforming), or Medical Packaging. Good understanding of measures of application performance, related industry test methods.
LYB Product Knowledge: The performances of LYB products under the above-mentioned processes and application situations, and the benefits in use versus competitors.
Safety and Product Stewardship: Knowledge of related Product Safety, Food contact approvals. Understanding of Product Risks Management, and awareness in daily activities, such as product development (Global Polymers Innovation Process), complaint handling, and customer communications.
Project Management: Lay down and execute project management plans for achieving objectives of the organization – in particular, technical approvals and commercialization of grades and applications at customers.
Negotiating: Can negotiate in technical evaluations in tough situations with both internal and external groups. Can settle differences with minimum "noise". Can win concessions without damaging relationships. Can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic. Gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations. Has a good sense of timing.
Presentation and Communication Skills: Presents information in a simple way, clearly communicating the key messages and engages the audience. Communicates openly and clearly. Simplifies complex issues where possible and shares information freely.
