General Job Description: The AGV Technician II is responsible for the preventative / routine maintenance of electrical and mechanical technology in relation to the AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and related equipment. Will have a key role in new equipment installations and/or repurposing. Will have SAP Business Systems responsibilities with emphasis on EWM and ME transactions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures compliance with all company safety rules and procedures.
Locates and diagnoses electrical and mechanical systems malfunctions using test equipment and computer diagnostics. Calibrates and repairs testing equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment by inspecting, cleaning, and calibrating on pre-determined schedule. Tests repaired units for proper operation. Use routine electrical equipment such as test meters, hand, and power tools along with specialized diagnostic equipment. Performs technical, electrical and instrumentation repair work, troubleshooting, modifying, testing, calibrating, adjusting, and installing electronic equipment and monitoring devices. Performs maintenance and repair on AGVs with computer-automated processing system. Inspects defective electronic equipment to determine malfunctions. Reads and interprets schematic diagrams, logic charts, drawings, sketches, and manufacturers' manuals. Inputs moves in SAP Business Systems to be compliant with the EWM/ME system. Install new equipment and integrate into existing control systems using standard communication protocols. Under direction of electrical engineering staff provides quality-control inspections to ensure proper electrical processes. Records test data and ensure that electrical failures are properly documented. Ability read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blueprints, electrical schematics, troubleshooting and repair manuals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Must be able to move oneself freely throughout a manufacturing facility. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, kneel, and assume awkward positions as is dictated by worksite. Must have the ability to read and write in Basic English. Proficient in performing basic math calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, including fractions, decimals, and the metric systems. Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customer and to build effective working relationship with diverse work groups. Tests and modifies related electrical components and equipment by applying electrical theory and related knowledge. Maintains motors and gear components, conveyor or packing equipment as well as robotic machinery as directed. Uses principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve problems. Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision. Follow all established standard operating procedures. Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary. Perform other tasks assigned by management. Essential Skills and Experience: Certification/diploma in electrical technology from accredited school. Associate degree or its equivalency. Demonstrated proficiency process automation. Technical certification preferred in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential function of the job. Two-plus years of experience repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment, systems or applications. Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep records/make reports. Possess technical aptitude to read, understand and interpret technical documents and instructions such as blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic programming and troubleshooting and repair manuals/ publications. Ability to follow repair instructions. Ability to work proficiently in the SAP Business Systems with heavy emphasis on EWM/ME transactions. Able to work at heights of up to 50 feet. Able to lift 50 lbs. Knowledge of principles and theories of electronics Demonstrated proficiency in process\control automation. Computer proficiency including Window applications, Microsoft Office, Remote Desktop, and Teams/Skype.
