ResponsibilitiesKeeping the doctor's room tidy and neat for consultation - cleaning it up if necessary, to ensure the environment looks pleasant for the patients
Ushering in patients into the consultation or treatment room - giving a feeling of welcome, wanted and concern
Assisting the patients for doctor's examination - Ensuring patient feels comfortable in the room and acts as chaperon for female patient
Ensure patients are comfortable throughout the medical checkup process by adhering to all company's policies & procedures, Nursing Standards and Code of Ethics.
Ensure standards of patient care are always met by accurately taking the patient's body temperature, pulse rate & blood pressure reading & recording it prior to the doctor's consultation
Assisting doctors during minor surgery and giving treatment when necessary
Ensuring sufficient supply of gauze, cotton and other medical consumable for clinic usage when needed.
Ensuring medical supplies are available at all times
Preparing medical instruments for sterilization and handling them after sterilization.
Doing dressing for patients as and when required – Ensuring proper technique is used
Ensure safety precautions are taken an abiding to safety rules by handling medical instruments, equipment such as ECG, Audiometry, Spirometry, etc with proper techniques & professionalism
Ensure safety precautions are follow when drawing blood from patient and handling specimen for lab testing in correct container according to procedures and without any slip-ups.
Ensuring any lab specimen are correctly labeled and taken with correct patient's data without any slip-ups of specimens or containers
Ensuring lab forms are filed correctly.
Ensuring specimens are sent out with proper identification.
Ensuring doctor reviews the lab report before filing
Filing lab test report or hospital reports into patient file/card/form correctly and accurately and without any slip-ups
Assisting the doctor while he is giving treatment, ensuring consultation and treatment are given smoothly to meet patient's satisfaction
Receptionist & Patient CareGreet patients warmly and handle them with utmost care when receiving patient
Ensure patients cards or treatment chit are prepared correctly according to SOP
Attend to patients by coordinating services & treatment as per patient registration
Ensure sales data are captured accurately by keying in register patient into IQRIS
Ensure patients' information & filling system is followed and maintained properly for easy retrieval
Ensure accurate patient's information is disseminated to patient, doctor in charge or relevant parties via email, tele-communication, etc.
DispensingIn the event of Doctor's absence, you may prescribe and dispense general medication to patient.
For more complex drugs, you are required to get prior approval from Doctor in charge.
Ensuring the right drugs and dosage given out and provide correct instruction regarding dosage, duration and methods (if any) for the patient
Inquiring from the patients regarding allergies to medicines - Ensuring allergic medicines are not dispensed
Preparing and labeling plastic bottles for medicines / mixtures, ensure prepared bottles are always available - ensuring sufficient bottles, cream and pill containers in the dispensary
Pouring medicines / mixtures into smaller bottles – ensuring medicines are available at all times without wasting time
Keying-in drugs prescribed into the computer for records and for charges - Stock inventory and records available when needed - Report to immediate superior if any problem arises)
Issuing receipts, M/Cs and cash chit when necessary, ensuring receipts, M/Cs and chits are issued correctly and copies stored for further use - Report to immediate superior if any problem arise)
Ensure all medical reports & treatment chits are attached properly with the Pre-invoice summary.
Collecting cash on behalf of the clinic.
Charging patients when required - Ensuring cash transactions are recorded and done correctly (Report and coordinate with immediate superior if there is any cash issue)
Keep Doctor updated on the MCs issued and medicines prescribed/dispensed during his/her absence on a daily basis
Job RequirementsDegree/Diploma in Medical Assistant with valid APC
Must have Assistant Medical Review Officer (AMRO) Certification
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; Able to take minutes of meeting; Good interpersonal skills, good planning & organizing skills, good in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Words)
At least 2 - 3 years related experiences in clinical and clinical practice function
Able to coordinate and facilitate the teams and work groups as well as able to liaise with relevant authority and different level of staff, able to multi-task and work under pressure
