Job Objective / Summary
Application Chemist for Customer Support Centre (CSC) is to provide pre- and pro-sales support on application matters relating to the use of chromatography & mass spectrometry products marketed and sold by the Analytical & Measuring Instruments Division. Additionally, the Application Chemist will support the division's marketing and sales activities.
Key Responsibilities To provide pre-sales support (chromatography & mass spectrometry products) to the sales team, including but not limited to: Presentation and demonstration of instrument showcasing its advantage against competitors.Provide solutions to customers requirements related to use of products marketed and sold by the department.Provide consultation and assistant to sales team in providing the right configuration of the products to meet customers' requirements.Generating of specific application notes on specific instrument/applications.To provide post-sales support (chromatography & mass spectrometry products): Coordinate with sales and service teams to provide services such as but not limited to familiarization training, method optimization/development, detail theory & classroom training sessions in relation to products sold by the department.Application & instrument troubleshooting.Main person in handling environmental industry support (pre/post sales) – Private & government.To upkeep the CSC laboratory including and not limited to maintaining full functionality.Other Responsibilities To upkeep Customer Support Centre laboratory by assisting the Application Manager in: Record keeping of the movement of Customer Support Instruments and parts on-loan.Chemicals & reagents consumable usage and record keeping.To participate in all marketing activities undertaken by the division (Analytical and Measuring Instruments Division) and the company.To participate in all training activities undertaken by the department and the company.To abide to all company's policies and procedures.To manage personal leave planRequirement Bachelors' degree in sciences majoring in chemistry related studies.Experiences in working in analytical laboratory or a master's degree in science are added advantages.Knowledge or hand-on experiences in handing chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments.Familiar with analytical and organic chemistry.Fast learner, good mathematical aptitude, attention to details and be able to multi-task.Must have a valid driving license.Able to travel frequent and extensively.Able to write and converse in English & Bahasa Malaysia.Able to work as part of a team and possess good communication skills.
