The Application Engineer collaborates in a technical support role with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions Analysts, IT Operational System and Application Support specialists throughout the organization and its partners. As an Infor LN Application Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core technology platform of Infor LN, a leading ERP solution. You will work within a multinational team to create scalable, high-performance software solutions that meet the needs of inhouse business.
Main task and responsibilities:
Performs as a member of an application support team for ERP Business Process Analysts, IT Operational system and Application Support specialists throughout the organization and its partners.
Works with ERP systems Analysts, Support Specialists and Management to determine appropriate system configuration and setup.
Assists and manages ERP data conversion.
Thoroughly understands ERP database schema.
Executes IT related performance tests and reporting on ERP database in relation to the agreed service levels.
Creates documentation and procedure guidelines/work instructions for ERP systems users.
Thoroughly understands ERP security subsystem to assign appropriate system access to users at different levels throughout the organization and its partners.
Thoroughly understands business practices and procedures in order to design, develop and maintain automated workflow processes.
Works as a Systems Analyst to help define user needs and develop data processing solutions.
Analyzes, troubleshoots and supports with system recovery activities and ERP system issues reported by end users.
Designs, setups, develops, tests, deploys and maintains data processing solutions and Microsoft SQL environments (EDI, ION / Mingle I.e. - Infor XI, Barcode (Infor Mobility) and others).
Monitors Infor and SQL database, Tomcat and mirror servers.
Develops & maintains interfaces using Infor LN and connected systems.
Maintains SLM server and license keys.
Supports data migration, data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading (monthly solution dumps (PMC patches)).
Skills:
Proficiency in 4GL (Fourth Generation Language) used in Infor LN, as well as familiarity with other programming languages like Java, C#, and SQL.
Experience with Infor LN development tools, including LN Studio and other related development environments.
Knowledge of integration frameworks and tools, such as Infor ION, to facilitate communication between different systems.
Ability to customize and extend Infor LN applications to meet specific business requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize Infor LN applications.
Good communication skills to collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
Position requirements:
Educational Level:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field is required or equivalent experience is required.
Professional Experience:
3-5 years of experience in software development, preferably within an ERP environment.
Proven track record of working with Infor LN or similar ERP systems, including implementation and customization.
Experience in leading or participating in ERP implementation projects, particularly in the manufacturing industry.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), microservices architecture, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience in ITSM (TopDesk, ServiceNow, JIRA).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
