Job Summary
Under the Global SAP team, you support and advise on the development of applications by understanding the requirements of customers and recommending application performance improvements to ensure alignment with business requirements.
Job Accountabilities
Understand internal customers' processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the function or business unit.
Engage with the solution architect in the reviews and validation of the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; validate suppliers estimates.
Estimate Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality.
Perform quality review checks on project deliverables.
Support and review the documentation of functional specifications.
Make recommendations for application performance improvements.
Act as liaison between the Business and IT, as assigned.
Support the Portfolio Manager in building the Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan.
Support the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues and providing training as required.
Perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system.
Specify / recommend Integration and Parallel testing criteria.
Business Accountabilities
Utilize established financial systems to track budgets and highlight variances (either internal or within vendor contracts) in order to manage and control specific cost variables.
Look externally to research primary data sources, select relevant information, continually evaluate key themes in technology make recommendations to inform policy and/or product development in own area of IT.
Identify existing IT assets for new opportunities where possible (e.g. re-use), research best practice and review and analyze detailed business models to support senior management in developing and improving IT processes and systems.
Act as technical expert in a specific process or product area, conducting process reviews and initiating change in order to contribute to continuous improvement of services to internal customers.
Provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries from internal clients and design/develop and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with organization's policies and processes and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the delivery of assigned IT projects in own area of expertise for specific lines of business, collaborating with IT colleagues from across the wider function to agree an approach for project / program management.
Act within a number of complex processes and procedures and use in-depth knowledge to solve internal customer issues or escalate appropriately to manager, internal partners or external vendors.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development in SAP FSCM / FAM.
