The Application Support Engineer will represent Siemens Digital Industries Software Product Lifecycle MOM Support by guiding customers in identifying and solving complex issues. This is a technical role that interacts with enterprise-level customers, engineers, and managers to isolate and solve complex Manufacturing Execution System (MES) issues through cogent communications. The support engineer will apply proficient knowledge of PL MOM MES software and supporting technologies to investigate and resolve problems by making use of problem-solving skills and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle incoming support cases from customers, analyse their problems and provide timely solutions or workarounds that meet their needs. Collaborate with our global software development organization and customer care teams to address customer issues efficiently.
Under minimal supervision, analyse customer problems thoroughly and provide detailed problem examples to development teams. Write comprehensive problem and enhancement reports to facilitate continuous improvement of our products and services.
Offer technical assistance and guidance to team members encountering complex customer issues, applying your expertise to resolve difficult problems effectively.
Develop technical content for Siemens knowledge base.
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience providing technical support for manufacturing execution systems or enterprise software applications.
Sound working knowledge of the MES Camstar/Opcenter Execution Semiconductor preferred.
Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and database administration preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and a genuine desire to provide exceptional support.
Ability to work effectively in a team with multiple nationalities and cultures as well as independently with minimal direction.
