Assistant Manager, Contract (Sarawak) - based at Kuching, SarawakProject: ART- EPR MOBILUS GR JV SDN BHD
Roles & Responsibilities:Review, analyse, and negotiate construction contracts.
Managing all sub-contracts, including VO, claims, and extensions of time.
Maintain accurate and detailed contract records.
Facilitate communication and resolve contractual disputes efficiently.
Manage and process change orders according to contract terms.
Work with the project team to develop cost-saving strategies.
Review and understand project schedules developed by the planning team.
Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule/programme and identify potential delays.
Manage communication and negotiations with contractors regarding schedule adherence.
Implement strategies for mitigating delays and ensuring timely project completion.
Work closely with other departments to ensure project activities align with contractual requirements.
Identify and manage contract risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Participate in project meetings and provide contractual updates.
Analyze and evaluate contractor claims for validity and accuracy.
Assist in claim negotiation settlements with contractors in accordance with contract terms.
Document and maintain clear records of all claim activities.
Prepare regular reports on contract performance, cost control, and project progress.
Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and contractors.
Requirements:Minimum 7 years of experience in a contract management role within the civil and building construction industry.
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Construction Law, or a related field.
Proven track record of successfully managing/administering contracts for complex construction projects.
Rail project related experience is an advantage.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, including standard forms.
Strong understanding of construction law and claims management principles.
Strong in letter drafting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
