Assistant Director Sales / Senior Sales Manager

Assists in leading the property's segmented sales effort (e.g., group, transient, association, corporate, etc.) and assists in the implementation of the segment sales strategy and achieving segment revenue goals, property revenue goals and guest and employee satisfaction. Conducts all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves personal booking goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and occupancy goals.
- Executes the event and banquet sales strategy plan for Casuarina Meru and assigned business unit under the Hospitality and Tourism.
- Lead and motivate a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Submit monthly departmental report in an agreed format by the management of the hotel and other assigned business units.
Business Development:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, group sales, and transient business.
- Oversee the sales business plans under the brand of Casuarina, to ensure consistency and uniformity of hospitality and tourism are maintained.
Client Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness.
- Analyse market trends and develop accurate sales forecasts to optimize revenue.
- Ensure the development of strategic key account clients in the market.
Revenue Management:
- Collaborate with revenue management teams to maximize room rates and optimize inventory.
- Operate within annual budget guidelines, monitoring and controlling departmental costs to ensure performance against budget, maximizing revenue and ensuring profitability for the hotel.
- Prepare regular sales reports and analyses to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow up on event/payment status for Casuarina Meru and assigned business units.
- Actively participate in the budgeting and forecasting process ensuring targets are achievable.
Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and target markets.
- Accountable for meeting the event and banquet sales target for Casuarina Meru and other assigned business units.
- Provide market intelligence in evaluating market economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Work closely with the PR team and provide them information and content for promotional purposes.
- Proactively review/propose marketing ideas, development strategies, and execution in expanding the company's market share together with Strategic Communication and Branding Manager.
- Prepare statistical performance as necessary and monitor market trends and competitive set.
Event Planning:
- Assist in planning and executing sales events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Develop event and banquet sales goals strategies and ensure alignment with the brand business strategy at Casuarina Meru/assigned business unit.
- Recommend appropriate policies regarding event and banquet pricing, promotion, product and market evaluations, and marketing plans.
Qualifications and Skills as Assistant Director Sales:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in hotel sales and management.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding revenue goals.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Proficiency in sales and CRM software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate and drive a direct sales team, and develop a cooperative and competitive team spirit and winning attitude.
Experience in managing hotel departments, understanding of hospitality industry standards, and a proven track record in improving guest satisfaction are crucial.
Self-starter, goal-oriented, eye for detail, and has an ability to drive change.
