Job Title: Assistant Finance ManagerJob Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team in a listed manufacturing company. This role will primarily focus on costing and financial reporting, requiring strong technical accounting knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance. The successful candidate will support the Group Financial Controller in managing financial operations, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This role demands a deep understanding of cost analysis and a solid grasp of accounting standards, making it essential for driving financial strategy and informed decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesCosting and Analysis
• Collect, analyse, and maintain data on materials, labour, and operational expenses.
• Develop and maintain cost-tracking systems within the ERP platform to organize and streamline cost-related information.
• Monitor fixed costs, such as salaries and administrative expenses.
• Track and manage variable costs, including raw material purchases and utilities expenses.
• Prepare detailed costing reports to support profitability analysis and strategic decision-making.Stock Take and Variance Reconciliation
• Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly stock take exercises.
• Reconcile and resolve stock take variances in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.Financial Reporting and Compliance
• Prepare accurate and timely financial management and statutory reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements.
• Support the Group FC in ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements, financial reporting standards (e.g., MFRS, IFRS), and regulatory obligations for a listed company.Budgeting and Forecasting
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the company's budget and forecasts.
• Analyse variances between actual and budgeted financial performance and propose corrective actions.Process Improvement
• Review and recommend improvements to financial processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.Collaboration and Support
• Support the Group FC in preparing materials for management, board meetings, and other ad-hoc financial tasks.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business objectives and operational goals.Qualifications and Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are preferred.• Experience:
• At least 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting in a listed company environment.
• Hands-on experience in costing within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of MFRS, Bursa Malaysia Reporting Requirements and Companies Act 2016.• Skills:
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
