Mangala Estate Boutique Resort, a humble 5-star boutique resort with a commitment to luxury, sustainability, and personalized service, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining an exceptional level of cleanliness, upkeep, and guest satisfaction at our resort.
The ideal candidate will excel in managing daily housekeeping operations, supervising staff, coordinating across departments, and upholding the highest standards in cleanliness, presentation, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Daily Operations:Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager to lead and streamline housekeeping operations, ensuring efficient task execution, timely room turnarounds, and optimal guest satisfaction.
Maintain High Standards:Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all guest rooms, public spaces, and resort facilities to ensure they meet or exceed our quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
Inventory and Supplies Management:Assist in managing inventory and ordering of housekeeping supplies, equipment, and amenities, ensuring sufficient stock levels and proper usage.
Monitor Pest Control:Report and address any pest control issues promptly, working closely with the Housekeeping Manager and relevant teams to resolve issues effectively.
Adhere to Safety and Hygiene Protocols:Ensure all team members follow cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with local regulations and company policies, promoting a safe environment for guests and staff.
Lost and Found Management:Oversee the secure handling and documentation of lost and found items, ensuring efficient tracking and return processes.
Collaborative Inspections:Conduct detailed and frequent room inspections with the Front Office Manager and Housekeeping Manager to maintain consistency and alignment on quality standards.
Guest Relations and Issue Resolution:Handle guest and internal customer inquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently, ensuring prompt follow-up and satisfactory resolutions.
Stay Informed on Industry Trends:Keep abreast of industry trends, innovations, and emerging cleaning technologies to improve departmental processes and enhance service delivery.
Staff Training and Supervision:Train, guide, and supervise the housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and ensure all team members meet performance and service standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or relevant field.
Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, ideally in a luxury or resort setting.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Hands-on experience and thrive in practical, action-oriented person.
Proficiency in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods.
May be required to work in outdoor settings.
Working Conditions:While most tasks will be performed indoors, some duties may require outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the resort's operational needs.
