Job Summary: The Assistant Finance Manager responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, coordinate statutory Audits and Tax filing.
This position also participates in other related accounting and reporting projects. Assistant Finance Manager provides a daily support to Masimo Malaysia's Management and to various functions and geographies within Masimo companies. Although physically based in Malaysia, Assistant Finance Manager is joining a team of skilled Finance & Accounting professionals located in Japan, Korea, India, Switzerland and the US.
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and yearly US GAAP close, including ERP close process; Prepare monthly GL activities, journals and accruals, perform balance sheet reconciliation and analytical reviews; Supervise accounting team, provide guidance and coaching; Responsible for Local law compliance; Prepare Statutory Financial Statements as well as direct tax filings and underlying information for VAT returns payment and filing; Oversee others local specific requirements; Active support in internal and external audit activities and oversee timely remediation of any findings or follow up items; Data and analysis provider for key functional areas of the Company; Liaise with local management team to analyze financial information and assist on strategies to meet site's objectives; Assist with business planning and budgeting process and monthly review and forecast of financial performance to ensure strong budgeting control and discipline for the manufacturing operations; Consistently improving efficiency internal controls, business and system processes; Handling ad hoc cross functional projects; Ensure compliance with the company policies and other control procedures; Perform special projects as requested; Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Minimum Qualifications: Five or more years of relevant financial experience in a multinational environment with at least 2 years in similar role. Strong knowledge of Malaysian statutory requirements and US GAAP as well as direct and indirect tax Experience working in a manufacturing and multinational environment is an asset Experience working in an Audit company a plus Advanced Excel skills and strong general understanding of ERP systems required Must be able to meet the deadline for month-end close and year-end close. Strong communication and collaboration skills Driven, able to work independently in an efficient manner and keen to take on new responsibilities Pro-active, team player oriented, reliable, and hands-on approach Willingness and ability to recognize and adapt to changing business requirements Fluent in Malay and English, both verbal and written Preferred Qualifications: Not applicable Education: Bachelor's of accounting degree or equivalent required. Master's degree preferred
Physical requirements/Work Environment This position primarily works in an office and manufacturing/production environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
