POSITION SUMMARY:
The candidate is responsible to lead, plan, manage, and own the performance of the warehouse workforce on all activities and diligent execution and management of Receiving, Storage/Put away, WO Kitting, Inter-Site Shipments Support, External Warehouses, Inventory Accuracy (both quantity & storage location), and warehouse department managerial tasks effectively and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong leadership to lead, plan, manage, and own the operations and performance of the warehouse workforce, including Departmental Budgets & CAPEX forecasting and control.
Continuous improvement of warehouse processes, inventory management (accuracy), warehouse tools/systems enhancement, and efficiency of the workforce. Demonstrated improvement projects.
Cross-function and inter-site communications and collaborations.
Problem-solving capability. Confidence in using 5-Whys, Fishbone, and basic brainstorming.
Must have strong organization skills and excellent planning, scheduling, and decision-making skills.
Ensure the warehouse workforce executes timely receiving transactions (physically & electronically), puts away accurately, supplies WO material kits to production timely, and prepares & ships outbound shipments on time.
Monitor warehouse operations' performance indicators (KPIs) and use Daily Management.
Daily and weekly warehouse inventory value monitoring, control, and escalation.
Daily collaboration with Planning & Purchasing Departments to monitor and control incoming inventory.
Present monthly forecast on workforce and storage space analyses to align with business needs.
Close monitoring of 3PL Warehouse for all movement of inventory following into internal warehouse and management for DIO (Day of Inventory Outstanding).
Work closely with the WOM (Work Order Management) team to expedite all critical urgent orders and linearize loading daily/weekly plan with the planning team.
Participate in daily Warehouse GEMBA for safety improvement and engage with HR for continuous training, upskilling both Direct and Indirect Staff.
Continuous improvement of kitting lead time and explore best-in-class practices.
Involved in both Warehouse Automation and Data/WMS improvement as required.
Travel may be required to local external warehouses.
Ensure activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
Primarily works in a manufacturing, shipping & warehousing environment which is fast-paced.
Position is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend days as the business requires.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership to drive warehouse workforce to achieve the desired performance excellence and to initiate problem-solving forums with cross-function and inter-site peers and leaders.
Ability to build high-performing teams and motivate the workforce to enhance their morale.
Ability and initiative to proactively organize, schedule, coordinate, and negotiate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment.
Ability to manage and lead a team of 100~200 employees.
Ability to present ideas in a structured and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing.
Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements.
Proficient experience of SAP warehouse module and WMS application.
Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of manufacturing material flow.
Good PC skills, Word, & PowerPoint. Knowledge of Smartsheet is desired. Above-average Excel skills (pivots and v-lookups).
A hands-on person with multi-tasking capability.
Ability and proactive to engage and effectively resolve conflict situations and employee disciplinary and performance issues.
To coach the staff within the warehouse to ensure all members are trained and competent to comply with their job requirements.
Ability to implement robust inventory control systems, perform periodic physical counts, reconcile, and investigate variances.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
5 years & above experience of managing a warehouse department of a similar size.
Experience in MRP system, WMS, and SAP is mandatory.
Managed or participated in warehouse layout projects.
Familiar with low volume and high mix environments with complex kitting procedures.
EDUCATION:
Essential:
Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Production/Operations Management (or closely related field).
A combination of relevant experience and/or education that is equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
Desirable:
APICS CPIM Certification will be an added advantage.
Lean Champion and/or Six-Sigma Green Belt certification will be an added advantage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
