**Objective of the position**:To assist and manage various disease resistance projects in coordination with project teams.**Expertise**:Knowledge on various diseases causing organisms of vegetable cropsand culture maintenance. Ready to handle various lab instruments forthe active diagnosis of various disease samples.**Brief Description of responsibilities and tasks**:**1. Coordination of our phytopathology activities**- Coordinate with crop groups in diagnosing various disease samples- Assist in the development of disease protocol for phenotyping activity- Supportive in smooth running of disease resistance screening activities- Maintain different disease cultures- Coordinate with external teams to conduct screening trials as per the need of projects.**2. Conduct field experiments for disease testing**- Conduct field experiments for disease testing, using both natural and artificial screening methods for fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode diseases.- Design the experiments to collect the data as per project needs- Laboratory diagnosis of various samples to confirm the disease screening activities.**3. Maintain sick fields for soil-borne disease screening**- Maintenance of soil-borne pathogens for their virulence- Develop the sick plots for various disease screening activities- Rescue the resistant plants for seed increase activity**4.
