About Our Client: Our client is a stock exchange holding company.
Responsibilities : 1) Develop strategies, policies, measures and initiatives to raise the standards of Corporate Governance (CG) in our capital market .
To develop and execute selected strategic objectives/initiatives related to Corporate Governance(CG) set by the company as well as to engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach in enhancing CG culture across the capital market eco-system (inclusive of feedback for rule changes, MCCG, MAP etc.)
To work with the Securities Commission and RPA within Regulation to ensure that our Listing Requirements (LR) provisions in relation to CG is benchmarked against international best practices as well as reflective of national priorities.
2) Addressing key CG issues/gaps identified by regional and international ranking exercises pertaining to Malaysian listed issuers.
Undertake the assessment of major CG rankings/reports such as the Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) CG Watch Reports and ASEAN CG Scorecards to ensure that any weaknesses identified that are within Regulation's control, are addressed.
Subsequently, spearhead efforts from Regulation divisions in obtaining data, and overseeing the preparation of the presentation to the relevant parties during all such ranking exercises.
To provide guidance, benchmark and feedback to PLCs for CG.
3) Regulatory Outreach Programme / Initiatives To identify topics, issues, focus areas for CG related advocacy initiatives for listed issuers by taking into account national priorities, relevant international and local developments, etc.
To target and engage specific PLCs based on the relevant assessments e.g.
MSWG ratings, SC's CG review, etc.
to enhance CG and sustainability practices and disclosures.
Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in CG, business management or accounting or finance.
Experience in working with listed issuers on CG matters.
Knowledge of Bursa Malaysia's LR, Malaysian, Code of Corporate Governance, OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance, Corporate Governance Codes from Singapore, Hong Kong.
UK and Australia.
Working knowledge of international sustainability reporting and performance guidelines (e.g.
GRI Standards, SASB, IIRC), sector specific guidelines and relevant national legislation.
