JOB OBJECTIVE: The Assistant Vice President, Research is responsible to support the Chief Strategy Officer in macroeconomic research, market intelligence and cross-functional projects. The Assistant Vice President, Research partners closely with various departments such as Strategic Management, Credit Management and across the company to achieve company-wide objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Macroeconomic research Collect and compile economic data to support global and domestic macroeconomic analysis.Assist to develop statistical and macroeconomics analysis using contemporary quantitative tools to develop information or scenario analysis that can be used in recommendations and decisions.Carry out research into matters relating to the financial services sector and/or banking-related matters in the relevant markets. Review and evaluate the financial services sector rules and regulations, mainly from the economics and economics policy perspectives. Periodic reporting Prepare periodical reviews of the progress of the global, regional and domestic economy and financial services sectors. Present research findings and strategy proposals to management.Special projects/others Work with colleagues across departments to implement business strategies and any cross-functional projects.Perform other related duties as may be assigned by management from time to time. REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Economics or related discipline.Minimum 5 years' experience in economics, research, statistical analysis, financial analysis or related areas.Industry experience that would be advantageous includes banking, property and capital market industries. International exposure would be an added advantage.Excellent working ability of MS Office products (Word, Powerpoint, Excel). Familiar with information database such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Bond Stream, S&P Capital.Proficient in data analytics tools such as PowerBI, RStudio, EViews will be an added advantage.Pro-active and creative with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.Flexible – comfortable in managing tasks in changing environment.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organisation skills
