Get to Know the Team
Grab's Compliance and Government Relations team plays a strategic role in supporting the sustainable growth and operations of the largest FinTech in South-East Asia. The team is led from Singapore and supplemented with in-country representatives in each core country market, providing coverage for Grab's regulated entities and products.
The team partners closely with the business to address regulatory issues and provide interpretive guidance to ensure compliance with current/developing regional regulations. The team also corresponds with regional regulators and proactively identifies opportunities to deepen relationships with key government stakeholders.
Get to Know the Role
This is a unique and dynamic role that taps on both compliance and stakeholder management skills, and which employs cutting-edge digital technology to protect the business.
Your role will primarily focus on protecting the business across the region. The role will require you to have an understanding of the fundamentals of financial crime including AML / Sanctions / CFT risk areas across the South-East Region.
You will report into theSenior Manager, Financial Crime Compliance and be based in Petaling Jaya, working onsite.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
You will have the capability to apply regional regulatory requirements.
You will review and test financial crime-related processes across the organization by designing control tests. Additionally, you will suggest potential issues, mitigating factors, and rationales.
You need to understand the risks associated with products, services, and delivery channels that GFG engages in and provide advice on mitigants.
You will implement controls such as documenting procedures, or oversee process implementations to ensure they are completed to a high standard.
You will support the Financial Crime Compliance team, including Country Compliance Officers, by conducting ad-hoc reviews and process improvement plans related to your focus area.
You will document and escalate potential KYC, TM alerts, and ODD issues to the Compliance team.
You will collaborate with multiple related business, product, and risk units to implement applicable AML procedures.
You will support the enforcement of governance and reporting on AML, CTF, and Sanctions risk-related issues for management meetings.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
You will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, working in regulatory compliance or internal audit in a local financial institution.
You will be prioritized for assessment if you are a highly qualified candidate with experience working for a financial regulator.
You will have experience in drafting policy recommendation papers, or policies, procedures, and manuals.
You will have experience in collaborating with financial regulators, responding to regulatory inquiries and surveys, and managing inspections.
You will have experience in stakeholder management at all levels, particularly senior stakeholders.
