Come join us in delivering better outcomes for our clients around the world! We are looking for an Associate, Financial Institutions (Retail Sales) to join the team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role will be an integral member of the Retail Sales team based in Malaysia. He/she is expected to execute the retail sales strategy and possess a solid understanding of the investment products, sales, business development and service needs of Malaysian retail business. The primary focus is to establish, grow and maintain good working relationships with the organization's distribution partners, and be responsible for positioning our investment products through them. Relationships with distribution partners will be developed and grown through proactive sales presentations, regular visits and sales calls and the communication of value-added information.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position? Business development:
Generate sales inflow by proactively arranging various promotional activities such as seminars, briefings and outbound sales calls etc.
Cultivate and deepen relationships with existing distributors and identify potential distribution partners with the aim of increasing FT market share
Deliver AUM and sales targets within specified channels and clients, focusing on retail distribution partners in Malaysia
Monitor on an ongoing basis relevant client structure, investment objectives, benchmarks, progress and holdings
Work in close partnership with FT teams to deliver high quality service experience to clients
Execute sales ideas, build and deliver sales presentations that complement specific advisor/distributor business profiles
Work closely with Retail Sales team members with the common goal of growing the Malaysian retail business
Handle RFIs/ Annual DD/ Query Handling
Actively seek to drive business results by identifying opportunities to enhance/strengthen our materials and messaging
Provide Sales support to ensure the timely and efficient responses to client inquiries
Business management:
Assist with strategic business planning and business development initiatives
Ensure sales databases and client contact information are updated
Support external regulatory and internal requirements for sales
Produce, maintain and circulate internal spreadsheets, reports, newsfeeds, etc.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful? Bachelor's degree, preferably in a finance related discipline
3 - 5 years' equivalent sales experience in the asset management and/or financial industry
An understanding of the dynamics of investment management industry focused around meeting client demands.
Established relationships with key retail distribution partners
Team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High levels of personal and professional integrity to develop deep relationships
Understanding of processes and platforms in the retail business model
Ability to deliver strong sales presentations
Excellent in-person presentation skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, team environment
