Job Purpose
Lead the authorisation activities to provide license and register credit providers and service providers to ensure they demonstrate compliance with the rules and guidance from established criteria to be eligible consumer credit providers.
Main Accountabilities
Drive the authorisation activities in managing credit provider licensing, credit service provider registration, attestation, application amendment and withdrawal processes to ensure a streamlined and transparent process for authorising credit providers and service providers, thereby promoting fair competition, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance in the consumer credit market.
Work in partnership with Policy and Legal team to support the development and establishment of Authorisation Standards in ensuring a comprehensive guide outlining the criteria, procedures, and requirements for the authorisation of credit providers and service providers in the consumer credit market, ensuring consistency, transparency, and adherence to regulatory standards throughout the authorisation process.
Oversee the assessment of authorisation applications based on established approval criteria (including Shariah requirements) to ensure the regulatory standards are uphold, consumer interests are protected, and the integrity of the financial system is maintained.
Oversee the management and maintenance of a public register of authorised credit providers and credit service providers, such as authorisation policies and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Work closely with other functional Heads and Lead Principals for resource management to ensure sufficient allocation of resources based on work requirements.
Engage and collaborate with relevant agencies and key external stakeholders to facilitate information sharing, coordinate regulatory efforts, and address emerging issues or challenges in the consumer credit market.
Establish clear and consistent management practices across the function by fostering an environment of collaboration, efficiency, and synergy to ensure the team operates effectively and cohesively.
Identify areas for team members' learning and development, considering the competency framework and consumer credit ecosystem needs and changes, to meet job expectations and build organisational capacity.
