This role is responsible for operating a Boiler, Water Treatment Plant, Waste Water Treatment Plant, and Air Compressor process and equipment to produce good quality products while enhancing energy consumption.
This includes routine cleaning and maintenance of boiler components, tubes, fire boxes, etc.
Performs repair and parts replacements as required to pass boiler inspection and ensure safe operation.
Supported the maintenance supervisor by participating in a wide range of engineering and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall efficiency and functionality of the plant's performance.
Collaborating closely with fellow Maintenance Technicians involves delivering technical expertise to the team encompassing repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance across various aspects including machinery, utilities, and building facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
Operate and maintain the boiler in such a way that high efficiency is obtained and conforms to the safety standards and regulations of the machinery department (DOSH).
Manage the factory's daily operation, troubleshoot, and resolve any downtime incident (electrical and mechanical).
Responsible for daily operation and handling of the boiler and its ancillary components: boiler steam pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature, gauge glass, high and low water alarm, fuel oil filter, lubrication oil level, drive belt, grease bearings, blow off valves, burner flame.
Periodically checks during production and non-production periods all steam distribution systems including pressure-reducing stations/valves, safety valves, and steam traps.
Record all the steam, gas, water, and soft water consumptions generated from the boiler and supplied to the plant.
Involve in the annual inspection activities with regards to the maintenance, checking, repair, and commissioning.
Maintain and ensure the water treatment plant is in good condition, responsible for all the machinery and equipment maintenance.
Perform Boiler Water Treatment and Analysis.
Operate and monitor boiler machines, including upkeep boiler operations data and safety aspects and compliance with the factory and machinery Act 1967.
Attend and follow up JKKP inspection on boiler, to ensure no disruption during the inspection process.
Monitor and maintain all air compressor systems in the plant, and handle major and minor services for all air compressors utilized at the plant.
Perform general maintenance duties including upkeeping of factory premises, facilities, and others (5S).
Ensure maintenance activities comply with the Company's policies such as Food Safety, HSE, and Halal.
Responsible for GMP housekeeping/cleanliness of maintenance store, office, workshop, and working tools.
Supervise external contractor's works/services and monitor their performance.
Records all working parameters detect anomalies and report to the superior immediately.
Additional Responsibilities:
Carry out daily routine inspection and monitoring for WWTP and record all the WWTP readings in the daily performance monitoring log sheet.
Attend any issue related to wastewater treatment plant operation, and provide support to the WWTP technician daily.
Monitor waste water treatment plant final discharge water to ensure it meets DOE standards.
Ensure treated discharge water is within the regulatory specification (Standard B).
Records all working parameters and detect anomalies and report to the superior immediately.
Supervise external contractor's works/services and monitor their performance.
Skills & Experience:
Certified Boilerman Grade 1 license from a recognized authority or relevant technical certification or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial boilers.
Familiarity with various types of boilers, such as fire-tube, water-tube, or electric boilers.
Knowledge of water treatment processes and their impact on boiler efficiency.
Basic troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
Strong understanding of boiler operations, maintenance, and safety protocols as well as knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., OSHA).
Comfortable working in varying temperatures and industrial settings.
Willingness to work on a shift basis, including weekends and holidays.
