Role Overview: Our business is in a transformational state, scaling globally to meet our customer's and our business needs, while we are developing more standards and automation in our reporting capability. This role does require involvement with the business on this transformational journey in support of this specific global project. Much of the data currently is cultivated from various database sources within our software. The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for leveraging data to drive business solutions and support decision-making processes. This role involves collecting, preparing and supporting the global program management team with the retrieval, preparation, to analyzing large datasets, generating insights, and providing actionable recommendations to improve business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Interpretation: Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools. Develop statistical models and perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Translate data findings into actionable business insights and recommendations. Reporting and Visualization: Create and maintain dashboards and reports using excel initially, with a progression towards reporting data visualization tools. Client data base and reporting management as well as channel incentive software. Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and insights. Develop ad-hoc reports as needed to support specific business needs and initiatives. Business Requirements and Documentation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and gather detailed requirements. Document business requirements, data flows, and user stories to ensure clarity and alignment. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and analysis methodologies. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization through data analysis and recommend improvements. Support the implementation of data-driven solutions to enhance business processes and operational efficiency. Monitor the impact of implemented changes and refine strategies as needed. Data Governance and Quality: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all data sources and reports. Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain high data quality standards. Conduct regular data audits and quality checks to identify and resolve data issues. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and data teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Present data insights and analysis results to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. Provide training and support to business users on data tools and best practices. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in data science, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a related role with a strong emphasis on data analysis. Proven experience in data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Copilot for MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and statistical software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of data governance, data quality principles, and best practices. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Work Environment Remote based position working with a global remote program management team in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Some coordination of work hours in support of planning and communications with the in region and headquarters team is required. Headquarters team is based outside of Toronto, Canada, in regional personnel are based in India, Malaysia, Romania, Madrid and Toronto currently. Collaborating and working with cross functional teams in Program Management, Development, Finance and Marketing can be expected. May require occasional travel to headquarters for face-to-face meetings, could be annually.
