Responsible for on-time delivery per request to ensure supply continuity while maintaining inventory control at a reasonable level. The position requires monitoring and driving improvements in suppliers' performance, maintaining efficient and effective communication internally and externally, and strengthening the core competence of AE's business relationship with suppliers. Duties include, but are not limited to, achieving favorable results, maintaining systems correctly and timely, and completing tasks and assignments within the required timeframe. Provides assistance in the performance of various purchasing assignments and planning of lower to medium value production materials under limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reviews Business Requirements Planning (BRP) Report and analyzes the suggested orders and/or alterations.
Educates suppliers on performance measurements and continuous improvements.
Evaluates and monitors supplier quality and delivery performance against corporate zero defects and on-time delivery objectives, collaborating with related teams to improve performance.
Develops a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quantity and quality requirements.
Gains in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities/suppliers, manufacturing processes, and related industries to expedite results effectively.
Purchases parts/materials using Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI), negotiation, contracts, cost analysis, and internal/external technical expertise.
Establishes and strengthens good business relationships with suppliers and internal customers; collaborates closely with planning and demand teams to understand real demand fluctuations and proactively address changes.
Maintains good communication with suppliers regarding delivery issues, quality issues, and other concerns until resolved.
Responsible for maintaining systems correctly and timely; completes purchasing assignments within the required timeframe.
Keeps inventory at a reasonable level by negotiating with suppliers to push out, reschedule, or cancel open orders as necessary.
Adheres to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
Overtime work may be required.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Travel may be required infrequently.
QUALIFICATIONS :

EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or purchasing/planning environment; familiarity with SAP operations is a plus; teamwork spirit is essential.
Ability to apply an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues, providing analysis and project direction input to team efforts.
Independently manages tasks with limited day-to-day supervision and guidance, following established guidelines and interpreting policies.
Interprets and coordinates technical, business-related information, requiring persuasive communication skills.
Initiates and develops relationships with others as a key priority.
EDUCATION :
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing/Logistics/Material Management, or equivalent education and/or experience.
