The Buyer Planner's primary function is to plan, organize, monitor, and procure critical components and inventory levels of assigned direct/indirect commodities.
This position requires daily interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive on-time deliveries at competitive cost structures while maintaining a healthy level of inventory.
This position will require strong interaction with internal and external stakeholders as well as collaboration within the SMC team to be successful.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:General Duties:
Observe the highest standard of integrity and ethical business practice while performing daily activities in sourcing and procurement activities.
Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation to stakeholders to meet performance expectations.
Review assigned requirement plans and determine appropriate means to meet requirements.
Undertake other roles & responsibilities that are assigned by immediate superior from time to time until full closure.
Buyer Responsibilities:
Source, select, negotiate, and maintain the best purchase package in terms of quality, cost, delivery lead time, and after-sales service with suppliers.
Expedite supply solutions for line-down and component shortage scenarios and communicate with stakeholders on action plans.
Actively maintain the data integrity of the supply network in the MRP System.
Monitor and track the performance scorecard of the supplier.
Actively participate in supplier quality issues, including part return for rework and replacement.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to implement process improvements to drive kaizen in the workplace.
Planner Responsibilities:
Monitor and track inventory levels efficiently to meet forecasts and business requirements to mitigate risk and ensure contingency plans are in place while minimizing excess material and waste.
Ensure integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracies.
Analyze and provide input in the development of the sales forecast projections and implement material procurement through loading a master schedule into the company MRP system.
REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years in Buyer Planner role.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in MRP / ERP system.
Experience in launching a start-up company.
Extensive knowledge of supplier base and network.
Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Experience in launching a start-up company & with good communication in Japanese/Mandarin will be an added advantage.
