About the role Support the Category Manager by selecting and delivering balanced, coordinated product ranges as per the strategic buying plans for the category.
A product specialist leading consumer right assortments, managing budgets, analyzing product performance in detail and successfully managing execution across all relevant market places.
Working alongside category manager influencing product and category strategies, thereby objectively and efficiently maximizing sales and sell-through.
Reporting to the Category Manager, you will be responsible for: Formulate buying plans and budgets for assigned brand/category based on comprehensive analysis of historical trends and future forecasts.
Develop buying plans focused on consumer-centric brand/category lines to maintain profitability and SKU efficiency.
Align buying plans with overall business unit strategy as directed by the Category Manager.
Monitor brand/category sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify critical business factors and propose action plans.
Analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales/inventories, driving sales and profitability targets.
Manage placement of orders and ensure merchandise delivery according to plan and service level agreements.
Identify buying opportunities to maintain competitive edge through constant renegotiation.
Communicate and follow up on product requirements and findings obtained from sales/store data.
Stay updated on buying trends and discuss potential realignment with the Category Manager.
Develop periodic reports on consumer behavior and trends to facilitate product decisions.
Supervise and guide the buying team's day-to-day activities and participate in capacity planning for smooth product supply.
In order to succeed in the role, you should ideally have: Tertiary qualification in a business-related field.
Product training, garment construction, or design background preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3 years in product buying.
Proven track record in leading brand/category management, especially in sports/footwear/ fashion/ active lifestyle products.
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for numbers.
Exceptional stakeholder management abilities.
