We are looking for a CAD/CAM Engineer who wants to innovate, achieve and grow. Reporting to the Production Manager, the CAD/CAM Engineer will be responsible for NPI or Mass production programming as well as Jig & Fixtures designing.
Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to:
Establish manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities with proper documentation (e.g. Setup Sheet) especially at the machining shop, including setting of machine, tooling, material, fixture, and clamping method.
Manage, sustain, and improve all operational or production/machining relevant processes.
Work with quality to get first piece buyoff and production part SPC monitoring to make process stable.
Conduct process study and improve production yield quality and cycle time, including solving drawing issues and manufacturing problems.
Communicate with the global team to replicate best practices and knowledge transfer.
Design holding fixtures and special cutting tools with 3D CAD system and prepare CNC programs with associated CAM system (TopSolid).
Initiate and participate in continuous improvement processes and 6S at the work environment to increase productivity and maintain safety, especially towards departmental KPI.
Work with the manufacturing floor to minimize downtime and optimize cycle times.
Feasibility study for NPI parts incorporation with design engineer and product manager.
Support new production introduction (NPI) by planning machining processes, tools selection and designs, deciding clamping method, CNC program preparation, pilot run, and proper handover to production.
Ensure accurate and stable CNC program with tool path verification to minimize programming error.
Maintain and support tooling management, e.g., tool life control, tool list management in CAM manager.
Conduct training for production staff in workflow and in the use and application of various machining techniques.
Support daily tasks as given by superior from time to time.
Work alongside CMMM operation to ensure parts are manufactured to specified tolerances.
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Precision or Manufacturing Engineering or related.
Extensive experience in high precision CNC milling and minimum 5 years of programming experience on 3-and 5-axis milling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
Skilled at problem solving and troubleshooting CNC Machining problems that arise.
Have good knowledge in DFM and SPC.
Ability to set up, calibrate, and maintain machines and tools.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of machines and equipment required to fabricate parts from simple to complex.
Experience in aluminium and stainless steel machining.
Organized, self-dependent, and customer-oriented.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility with the ability to work overtime based on the strategic needs of the company.
