Captain/Supervisor (International School Cafeteria, Iskandar Puteri, Johor)Lead the cafeteria service team, ensuring high-quality food service standards are maintained at all times.
Monitor staff performance, ensuring that food is served promptly, courteously, and efficiently to students, teachers, and staff.
Oversee the setup and cleanliness of the dining area, maintaining a pleasant and safe environment for all patrons.
Customer Interaction & Satisfaction:
Engage with students, teachers, and staff to ensure their dining experience is positive and address any concerns or feedback promptly.
Foster a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring service staff are attentive and professional.
Staff Training & Development:
Train new and existing cafeteria staff on service standards, hygiene practices, and safety regulations.
Monitor staff adherence to school cafeteria guidelines, including food handling, cleanliness, and customer service protocols.
Inventory & Stock Control:
Assist in managing the inventory of cafeteria supplies, ensuring that food, beverages, and serving items are sufficiently stocked.
Work closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth operations during meal times, and alert management when stock needs replenishing.
Safety & Hygiene:
Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of food.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure the cafeteria complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
Shift Coordination:
Organize and assign daily work shifts for cafeteria staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak meal times.
Monitor staff punctuality and productivity, addressing any staffing issues as they arise.
Event Coordination:
Assist in organizing and managing special events, such as school functions, staff lunches, or student activities held in the cafeteria.
Coordinate with the kitchen team and management to ensure events run smoothly and meet service expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal training in hospitality or food service management is a plus.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage or hospitality industry, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring the cafeteria operates efficiently.
Additional Knowledge:
Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Experience with inventory management and basic cash handling procedures is a plus.
