Job description
Food Preparation & Cooking :
Prepare and cook meals according to the menu, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.Follow recipes, adjust seasonings, and creatively modify dishes to meet customer preferences or dietary restrictions.Kitchen Management :
Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring efficient workflow.Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food storage, cleanliness, and maintenance of equipment.Ensure the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.Menu Planning & Development :
Create and update menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and dietary trends.Experiment with new recipes and presentation styles to keep the menu exciting and fresh.Inventory & Ordering :
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.Order and manage the stock of food and kitchen supplies.Food Safety & Hygiene :
Maintain strict food safety standards, including proper food storage, handling, and preparation practices.Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, including cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.Customer Interaction(if applicable):
Interact with customers when necessary, addressing their needs and feedback on food quality or menu options.Occasionally engage in cooking demonstrations or special events.Training & Development :
Train junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques, kitchen protocols, and safety standards.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.Cost Control :
Work with management to control food costs by minimizing waste and optimizing portion sizes.Assist in pricing menu items based on food cost and market conditions.Summary of role requirements:
