Job Summary: The Chemist cum Environmental Officer will focus on research and development (R&D) as well as environmental management tasks. This role requires a blend of expertise in chemistry and environmental science to develop innovative solutions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, supporting the company's sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities: Research and Development (R&D): Design and conduct experiments to develop new products, processes, or technologies. Analyse chemical compounds and materials to identify properties and potential applications. Develop and validate new analytical methods and techniques. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and product development. Prepare detailed reports and presentations on R&D findings. ?Design and evaluate wastewater treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. ?Prepare technical reports and documentation related to treatment processes and plant performance. Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Monitor environmental parameters such as air, water, and soil quality. Conduct environmental impact assessments and risk analyses. Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field. Proven experience in R&D and/or environmental management. In-depth knowledge of chemical analysis techniques and environmental regulations. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certifications related to environmental management and chemical safety are an advantage. Experience with various wastewater treatment technologies, such as activated sludge, membrane bioreactors, and anaerobic digestion. Knowledge of environmental regulations specific to wastewater treatment (CePSTPO).
