The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
They manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and brand standards.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Lead, supervise, and motivate the engineering team, including maintenance staff and technicians.Schedule and coordinate daily tasks and work assignments for the engineering team.Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support staff development and training.Facility Maintenance:Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the hotel's facilities are in optimal condition.Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance issues promptly.Project Management:Plan and manage engineering projects, including renovations, upgrades, and improvements to hotel facilities.Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders for project execution.Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Safety and Compliance:Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.Develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols to protect employees and guests.Budget and Inventory Management:Prepare and manage the engineering department's budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.Oversee the procurement of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and inventory management.Track and report on budget performance and adjust as necessary to meet financial goals.Operational Efficiency:Monitor and analyze the performance of hotel systems and equipment to identify areas for improvement.Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.Ensure that engineering operations support the overall goals and service standards of the hotel.Guest and Staff Relations:Address and resolve any maintenance-related guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address facility needs.Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a high standard of professionalism.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and compliance with regulations.Prepare and present regular reports on engineering operations, including status updates, budget performance, and project progress.#J-18808-Ljbffr
