Job Description Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Job Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the financial strategy and overall financial management of the retail company.
This role involves overseeing financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, and financial reporting.
The CFO will work closely with other executives to drive the company's financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives and enhance shareholder value.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and manage liquidity to ensure the company can meet its obligations and invest in growth.
Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
Cost Management: Implement cost control measures to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate financial performance and strategy to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
Mergers & Acquisitions: Assess potential M&A opportunities and conduct due diligence to support strategic growth initiatives.
Requirements Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, with 5 years in a leadership role within the retail industry.
Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar certification preferred.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
