Job Overview
As a Civil Engineer at SEAD Industries, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of infrastructure projects that align with our sustainable and eco-friendly mission. Your work will focus on developing innovative engineering solutions, particularly in the context of land restoration, bamboo-based construction, and environmentally sustainable practices. You will collaborate with architects, environmental consultants, and project managers to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within environmental regulations. This role also includes site supervision, ensuring quality control, and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Project Planning and Management:
o Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
o Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring all phases meet regulatory, budgetary, and timeline goals.
o Oversee the design and implementation of construction projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and sustainability goals.
2. Budgeting and Cost Control:
o Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
o Ensure projects stay within budget by monitoring financial performance and making adjustments as necessary.
o Prepare financial reports and forecast future expenses for ongoing projects.
3. Team Coordination and Leadership:
o Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
o Ensure clear communication between all parties to facilitate smooth project execution.
o Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure team members meet project deadlines and quality standards.
4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
o Review and approve engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications.
o Ensure that all project work adheres to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
o Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with building codes, safety protocols, and sustainable practices.
5. Risk Management and Problem Solving:
o Identify potential project risks (financial, environmental, safety) and develop mitigation strategies.
o Resolve any issues that arise during the project, such as delays, supply chain problems, or unexpected site conditions.
6. Client and Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them updated on project progress and addressing their concerns.
o Provide regular status reports to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency throughout the project.
7. Contract Management:
o Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
o Ensure contractual obligations are met and handle any disputes that may arise during the project.
8. Resource Management:
o Allocate materials, equipment, and personnel effectively to optimize efficiency and productivity.
o Ensure resources are used sustainably, particularly in line with SEAD Build's commitment to environmentally responsible construction.
9. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain thorough project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance records.
o Prepare project close-out reports summarizing key outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future projects.
10. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
o Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in civil engineering and project management.
o Propose innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and sustainability practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of project management experience in civil engineering.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage projects independently, from design to completion.
• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
