Provide psychotherapy and psychological assessments to students.
Support the Student Welfare Unit and the practice of the Student Mental Health Policy and Students with Disabilities Policy.
Serve as a crisis responder in the crisis management team, providing timely support and response during critical incidents, and coordinate with relevant team members to ensure swift action.
Provide crisis intervention and respond to mental health emergencies involving students, in collaboration with the assigned welfare officer. This includes:Conducting mental health assessments to determine appropriate interventions or resources needed to address crises.
Completing safety plans.
Implementing the appropriate interventions or referrals.Plan, organise, and lead structured programmes and initiatives to educate staff and students about disabilities, including understanding conditions like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as effective classroom management strategies.
Prepare and maintain all required records and reports. Document therapy in accordance with policies and procedures.
Stay updated on new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and networking with other mental health agencies. Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
Conduct theme-based training and consultation for staff and students on topics such as trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
Support the disability services and liaise with stakeholders to ensure adequate support is arranged for students.
Support in drafting and implementing the safeguarding policy.Requirements:
Masters in Clinical Psychology or other relevant areas of studies.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar area of responsibilities.
Goodwritten andspokencommunicationskillsand English proficiency, in terms of accuracy and clarity in providing feedback and advice. Ability to communicate in other languages will be an added advantage.
A teamplayer.
Goodorganisational, planning and time management skillsandbeing able to meetdeadlines andobjectives.
Able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Proficient in analysing different types of data.
