KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and set up the Double Column Machining Center to manufacture large, high-precision workpieces while minimizing vibrations and deformations.
Perform milling, boring, drilling, and tapping operations on complex parts to meet strict engineering specifications.
Adjust machine settings to maintain tight tolerances on precision components, including linear guides and ballscrews, ensuring optimal machine performance and durability.
Conduct and interpret thermal analysis to maintain precision during machining and apply thermal compensation techniques when necessary.
Ensure all machine components are calibrated to maintain dimensional accuracy, especially for large-format and intricate parts.
Modify and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and G-code to achieve precise, high-quality results.
Continuously refine tool paths, reduce cycle times, and adjust machining strategies to enhance production efficiency and accuracy.
Train and mentor local engineers, leaders, and CNC machinists, providing guidance and support to help CNC machinists develop their skills and improve their performance in dealing with CNC Double Column Milling Machines.
Perform first-part and in-process inspections to verify that workpieces meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
Utilize precision measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure high accuracy, recording inspection data as part of quality control protocols.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards for safety and quality.
Analyze and implement improvements to the machining process, such as optimizing tool paths, reducing cycle times, and streamlining production workflows.
Actively participate in initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure high levels of efficiency and quality.
Diagnose and resolve complex issues with the machining center, including adjustments in machine setup, tooling, and programming as needed.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the machine, tooling, and associated equipment remain in top working condition.
Coordinate with maintenance teams on any significant repairs, machine overhauls, or part replacements to prevent prolonged downtime.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
